WatchESPN launches ESPN+ service for watchESPN content, ESPN apps and more

WatchESPN will launch an ESPN+ subscription service later this month that will allow users to watch ESPN content on the WatchESPN app and on ESPN+ via the ESPN+ app.

The service, which is similar to the ESPN.com app, will be available for Android and iOS, according to a statement provided by WatchESPN.

The service will offer more than 2,000 hours of ESPN+ content and features such as live scores, team previews, live commentary and more.

“We are thrilled to welcome WatchESPN to the Watch ESPN family, and look forward to sharing more with our fans,” ESPN VP of Content & Programming Chris Capossela said in a statement.

“WatchESPN is the best place to watch college sports and the best way to watch your favorite college sports programs.”

A similar service, WatchESPN Plus, was launched in 2015 and has now garnered more than 1.6 million subscribers.

WatchESPN+ will provide access to content for more than 10 million ESPN+ subscribers, according a WatchESPN spokesperson.

The WatchESPN service is free and will launch with a subscription that costs $10 a month.ESPN+ subscribers will also be able to watch WatchESPN content on a mobile device using the ESPN app, which will be launched in the next few months.

Watch ESPN+ is currently available on Android devices and iOS devices.
